Before and after

I really like these lights but I have 3 bars and the ai blade I have set to full blues. My in wall has made a problem where I can only fit one more light…. If I cut into my wall and tidy up the studs which will suck because I’ll have to cover the tank with plastic to not cover it with Sheetrock dust and wood dust…. So grand total two more lights. Blue. But god. I don’t know when I’ll have the heart to rip open the studs and increase the height.
That turned out really well.

Extremely challenging in my experience.

They do not ship well and do not acclimate well and can be difficult to get eating. They often come in with intestinal worms from the wild. They require excellent water quality as well. If you find one eating at a LFS that has treated the fish for worms this is generally a best option. They are also prolific jumpers and you will want to have a cover for the tank (odd as they find refuge in the sand to sleep each night).

They require a sandbed to sleep in and will do so each night. As mentioned it is not uncommon for them to go missing for days or even a week and then just randomly show up.

Other than that they are a peaceful and beautiful fish. Most will also eat flatworms, some small bristleworms, small feather duster worms and pesky pyramid snails. There has been some discussion around them eating vermetid snails but I have not found that to be the case.

That said, we just received a Bipartitus leopard from NY Aquatic yesterday. NY Aquatic treats their fish with Prazipro and had verified she was eating spirulina brine. She shipped well and has been in our observation tank to verify that she is eating. We are hopeful that she continues doing well and will move her over as soon as possible to the display.
Awesome thank you so much I’m torn of getting one
