So as you know I love my mandarin and scooter blenny, deffenitly VIP in my aquriam.
yesterday I found the poor little guy/girl getting churned up in my wavemaker, I assume it died and just got sucked in, it' has not shown any signs of distress, it gets plenty of various foods including, I don't know if possible to overfeeding but alot of pods, I do also have a Mandarin. Flame was eating bloodworms occasionally.

It definitely was not starved, I think I got her in December, I'm so gutted :(

What size is your tank again?

I hate to say it but it looks rather small to sustain 2 pod eaters. I could be wrong though.
Maybe luck got them both this far?

Sorry for your loss. I hate when my VIP fish suddenly go belly up :disappointed-face:

45g 200 litres, 10 bags of pods monthly, also live artemia daily'ish maybe a day or two in-between for cleaning ... It was churned up that much I did not recognise until I pulled it out

Sometimes fish die and it is no fault of our own and we may never know the reason why as most people don't know how to do a fish autopsy.

I had 6 dragonetts in a 29g for about 5 years. It was easy to see they were getting enough pods as they were fat bellied and the pods were on the glass and everywhere and when I would trim the macro the bigger amphipods were running like cockroaches, was kind of gross.

Probably more efficient to set up a tank that can keep pods thriving in large numbers then to add 10 bags a month. idk.

Same for me, have a spotted mandarin with a scooter.
One day just found the scooter dead, not torn up, just dead.
I still have the mandarin three years later now.

Maybe two males?
IDK but coincidentally, same outcome for me.

Hard to say what took this fish down especially after death but was a beauty.
It can be spikes of some sort, unknown injury, internal, atmospheric and the list goes on
