I am looking to setup a smaller reef tank ...

40g Breeder

Trying to determine which to pickup and use..
Jaxracks
https://www.jaxracks.com/product-page/all-in-one-kit-40-gallon-breeder-aio

Or

Fiji Cube drop in
https://www.fijicube.com/collections/aio-diy-kit/products/in-sump-40-gallon-breeder

Thoughts on either?

It will depend on the tank placement and viewing angle. Jaxracks looks like it is the back of the display whereas the Fiji cube is using the shorter side wall which would make it a peninsula style. Both of those look nice thus my viewing angle comment. Maybe other members have experience with either.

I have no experience with either but actually setting up a 40 breeder as well. I am using an overflow to tie it to my existing system though. So it is drilled.

I have a 40 breeder, have had it for a couple years now, and use a hang on back aquaclear filter, jebao wavemaker and an in tank skimmer, and the heater is in tank. I didn't know this even existed!! Will be following, to see what you choose, and how it turns out! =)

would you want a peninsula style, or a regular aio style look?

peninsula style would use less internal space which in turn would provide more swimming room for the fish. the jaxracks would limit swimming room.

My 40b has a DIY AIO across the back, and it’s working great so far. Like others mentioned, placement/viewing would determine which one to go with.

I have a 40 mixed and use an aquaclear 70 with sponge and chemipure blue. It is lit by three primes and an orphek blue sky

Thank you for your input...and info... I have even thought about drilling one and putting and overflow down into a sump... so many options and so many ways to go.

BTW.....I would imagine and I have seen a few like this the FijI Cube is mounted in the middle on the long wall side.

Not sure... however the Fiji Cube could be mounted on the long wall as well

I did think about the Jaxrack taking up that much, the only thing that I do like about it is the filter area and the filter cups.

Fiji Cube:
It seems as if it can be mounted as Peninsula and or Could be mounted on the backwall
Takes up less room in the tank Not a lot of room for other equipment hiding

Con:
I have read though about the Fiji Cube is that the inlets are pretty small that causes flow issues. Obviously its just a handful of reviews sprinkled here and there... kinda why I was taking to here to talk about it.

Jaxrack:
Only can be mounted on the back wall
Has filter cups/socks
Lil more room in each of the chambers.

Cons:
takes up the full back wall

~~~~
URGH so many options so many ways...
Appreciate it. It’s completely pieced together between the DIY AIO compartment, 2 mismatched lights, and 2 small heaters. But, all the coral are super happy and showing new growth already in the 11 days everything has been in there. Money is tight so light upgrades will be a while, but I needed the extra space to try and get my giant mushrooms to cooperate and come off their frag plugs and onto tiles.
