Absolutly agreed. I use Noctua 24v IP67 2000rpm fans. 24v so I can plug right into the apex 24v accessory port :)

@TheHarold, have you tried to connect 2 12v fans in series to an apex 24v outlet? I had just enough room for 2 120mm fans in my light pendant center brace and am looking to save a port on my Energy Bar.

I have 2 120mm silenX computer fans mounted this same way on my stand drawing out the warm air. They have lasted about 5 years now without issue, and they run 24/7/365. Bearing less fans will not wear out and corrode.

Keeps my stand dry and equipment from rusting.

I have fans that exhaust the canopy and the stand where the sump is. If you want them to last any time at all you will need ones with a IP67 rating. I use computer fans but they have been modified to keep moisture out of the electronics. I still have to clean the fans quite often. They get a mixture of salt and dust on the blades and the case. In the first photo the exhaust fans are in the back cover. The other two are cooling fans for the heatsink for the LED lighting. The second photo is the back cover removed from the stand. The tank has been setup and running for over 5 years now. Not sure exactly when during that time the photos were taken. The fans have been changed more than once during the 5 years.
