Hello all,

I wanted to see what the general consensus was for some of the best skimmers. I have a 200 gallon tank and plan on having quite a bit and fish so I wouldn’t mind an oversized skimmer.

Thanks so much!

Reef octo or curve 7 elite would be my choice.. I’m running a curve 9 elite on my 300 and very happy with it!

Reef octopus regal or elite is a great option for that size.
The built in float switch from either will save you a bunch of headaches from skimmer cup overflowing and the elite has an even more quiet silencer on an already quiet skimmer.

If money is no object, definitely a red octo with a DC pump.

If you want pure bling... i think Nyos makes the prettiest skimmers period but i don't think they come with a DC pump.

I'm super happy with my royal exclusiv double cone. Skimmate is contantly black.
I would definitely recommend a royal exclusiv (preferably supermarin or deluxe) over a reef octopus if OP's budget allows. Best not to count on that though
