So I was originally starting up a 20 gallon but I had a 55 gallon tank not in use so I said what the heck and started building a stand and canopy for it. I’m loving the look of it so far. Tank is tempered so it will be sumpless. I normally build my stand with 2x4s but this time I went with all 1x frame construction with 3/4” ply on on the sides to make for a more sleek look when finished so 1x4 base frame and top frame with 1x2 glued and nailed into a L in the corners and center braces everything glued and nailed then 3/4” glued and nailed to the two sides. Onto the front 1x4s nailed and glued to trim out the front then triangles cut to add extra reinforcements glued and nailed to the uprights front and back. I feel like this will be more than strong enough feels very sturdy but would love some feed back if anyone has built like this before and any tips ?

Doors are in progress. Was able to get all the 3/4” ply I needed from one 4x8 sheet so saved me quite a bit of money
