I recently got a new zoa. Noticed some stringy stuff on the frag plug. Did the peroxide dip and now their back. It appears to be coming from the plug. It don’t look like it’s expelling from the zoas directly. What do you think? Thanks.

Would need a more clear picture to see, it looks like it might be affecting the zoa's, they are melting.

Can you tell us about your tank please? Tank age, water parameters, type of lighting and what kind of flow? Having all the info will help us figure it out. Let’s try to help you.

the ammonia probably irritates them but that should be converted to nitrate over the next few days. a water change may help them improve faster. i just had an ammonia spike in my macro algae tank (where i was temporarily keeping some zoas frags) and the ammonia was enough to melt some of them in just 2 days. others were fine, just closed for about a week. if ammonia isn’t going down on its own, a water change may be necessary until you find the root of the problem

I had to update lol idk what my ammonia is i don’t have test for them. Honestly ever since I peroxide dipped they been closed up. I just did 1:1 peroxide and tank water dip for not even a minute. But yeah everything else is doing fine in the tank:/

Like I mentioned above. Think it just could be some gunk sticking to the plug from scrubbing my glass and what not?
