I have a 10 gallon QT i use for coral but I didn't feel right quarantining a fish of his size in it. There is a local shop that has live brine on and off, last time I was there they were all out but I can try again tomorrow. I do have a completely empty 55 I could use in a pinch, but its bone dry with no rock or sand (or water...). I think these options would probably stress him more?
I just realized I can put him in the sump! :grinning-face-with-sweat:

This is from a thread where I describe what works for me with CBB. Dropping them into a DT even if they ate at the lfs is a crap shoot IMO

This is the box I use

That makes loads of sense- I didnt think about those critter keepers! Since im in a pinch, is the sump a bad idea? its just chaeto and some rock and the skimmer at the moment.

As long as there is swim room and no chance if it getting tangled up in chaeto it should be fine. I would shut the skimmer off, it won't hurt anything being off for a while. I run tanks without skimmers. Mine did well on baby brine shrimp also. They're super easy to hatch. I use this hatchery. It's over priced but very convient if space is limited and no need for an air pump.

Hol' up bruh.
There's a coupla thangs i wanna get straight dawg.
1. Are you actively treating for some kinda disease???
2. What's this about flukes???
3. Get that fish rabbi/priest on standby???

I mean yeah you got problems bro, and death is the answer most likely. Strange behavior from these fish a norm. Like mine after dinner time, chases is reflection until bed time, about 2 hours later. He spends 2 hours in the am, playing with the clown fish. He went from peaceful, to thug life thanks to my other fish.
Yes, actively treating flukes/ich on the fish from the LFS; I Stocked in 3 parts, the last was my coral beauty and this copperband (same trip, same store), and the coral came in with 2 spots of ich that I somehow missed at the LFS and only saw under the lighting in my DT. I freshwater dipped both fish and returned to DT, figuring the damage had been done. Normally I QT everything but I didn't think my 10g QT was right either fish. Ironically, I didn't see any flukes drop off the Copperband and he has no visible signs of Ich, but the fish that does/did is doing great: eating, behaving normally.

The skimmer is off for the moment because of the PraziPro as is. Ive put half a clam in there (as well as some blackworms, he ignored them while they were alive) . I actually have a hatchery but I don't use it to rear the shrimp to adults, only enriched nauplii for my dwarf seahorses, and as such have no live adults on hand. I have tried giving the copperband loads of nauplii and he doesn't seem interested. I suppose ill double up and try to keep some shrimp to adulthood if this pans out in such a way that I still have the fish.

I used this acclimation to house the fish:

Tanklimate Acclimation Box Mega (12 x 5 x 6) - Eshopps

The blue separators come out to make one large box.

Masstick worked great for me. It really packs on the weight. Then start with Hikari mysis in the pouch so they can pick like they would on rock.

The supplements will punch up the immune system. If the fish is not dealing with other issues like internal parasites or external parasites (Uronema)—then he’ll want to eat.

The food I use now is LRS FishFrenzy and he devours it twice a day now. And it’s been ~1 yr and 8 months so far in my care.

Without first seeing pictures (you proved them but they aren’t loading for me) I will say I had great luck getting mine to eat with fresh bay scallops and mussels barely opened to make him peck for it.

While I did not have success in the long run I can assure you it wasn’t from him not eating. The cooperbands I have tried did not refuse to eat from the fresh mussels and bay scallops in the shells.

In the long run I don’t know what I did wrong but it was assuredly some illness preexisting because up into the day it passed it was eating without issue like a hog

Some photos of the makeshift QT in the sump, and some closeups of the fish who is noticeably skinnier. I've also drilled some holes in an unused small sauce-type tupperware thing in lieu of PVC as suggested and put a chunk of mussel in it under the rock to see if he will pick at it. Lights are off in the sump except for photo purposes

That sump is way too clean. how old is the tank?

In any case try some mussels just barely opened and rubber band it to a rock through the opening of the mussel or scallop

You can buy them from any seafood market section from Publix or whole foods.

That’s what I did.

The two I tried before giving up 100% ate these without question.

Going to give masstick a shot as well, but I wont be able to get any until Saturday it looks like, hopefully that isn't too late.

Prazi pro can cause appetite supression.
Started the dose today, shortly before making this post, appetite issues predate unfortunately. Couldnt find it at LFS so I had to order it online, otherwise I probably would have started it around when I did the FW dip. Unfortunately that probably means this situation has only gotten harder then. Ugh

A bit over two months. I just added the rock/macro algae that is in the sump this week, however. It was bare bottom minus the skimmer for a long time with no light, so id wager it probably didn't get too dirty algae wise and the 200 micron sock kept out any large food bits. Ill grab some fresh mussels and see if that does the trick tomorrow, the frozen doesnt seem to be doing it for him
