Something like this?

We just have to find the male side.
Oh that's it! I went to the manufacturer's website and found the other side as well. Part #s PLCD14004 and PLC14004. Kinda pricey but exactly what I want. Thank you!

@Malcontent linked to the manufacturer, but I couldn't really find what I needed there. This is it though!

I purchased from Supply Home dot com, the White Acetal Push in Couplers. They were missing on my Life Reef Skimmer, I believe they have the Ones that Seal when disconnected.

Measure to be sure but you should just be able to run a tap down the barb fitting and thread it. Personally I would still just stub out a shut off valve so even if it wore out or broke you could swap in a new one for fifty cents and 10 seconds of your time.
I might just do the shutoff valve and see how it goes. I'm happy someone helped me find the exact part I was looking for, though.

There is still a metal spring in the colder disconnect FYI.

Depending on vol of tank size, that tiny piece of Stainless may not impact anything, but to a nano, it can.

We used to use those in PC water cooling. EK still uses them in some of there all in ones sets.

But just a FYI to someone who has a phobia to metals.
The valve malda pushins have no metal, its all plastic, which is why going that direction, is probably the preferred direction to most people.
