Sump advice

Hi

Told by the manufacturer to put the sump on the far right so I can run drain and emergency drain at a 45 degree angle to make it quieter….
But then eventually when I come to dose, the dosers would be at opposite end to the return chamber so would be a long run…(6ft tank)
Told better to dose in return chamber..
So far using two 90 then goes to two 45s for the drains..
Will this make a massive difference to how loud it is and would you keep the sump on the left or move to the right?
New to sump’s…

Herbie requires a full siphon and it’s virtually silent I also suggest submerging the drain 1” below the waterline of the sump it should be extremely quiet all around except for what’s dropping into your filter socks/mechanical filtration

Personally I like to keep the gate valve on the drain as close to the sump as possible but your setup will still work fine and the 45s will definitely help but aren’t exactly required

Thankyou, piping main drain direct to ReefMat…. So the first 90degree elbows won’t make much noise?
Got the main drain pipe about half way up the weir..

Ah k, thought putting it where it is in case I need to change the pipe after that point .

That 90 will technically be full of water only really water splashing noise will be beyond the gate valve

Magic so you’d keep the sump to the left then as is, leave the right side for dosers near return chamber
