Tap water in tank.

Hey guys, my wife fed my fish and coral yesterday. The food for the coral needs to mixed in a cup of saltwater from the tank buuuut my wife didn’t know that so she used tap water to mix it and using a turkey baster fed all my coral individually then dumped the rest in the tank. So that was yesterday and when I fed them today she said wait you use the water from the tank. My anemone has been tripping out since yesterday and some of the smaller coral look effected by it goodies anyone know what I can do to fix the situation? I’ll definitely do a water change but how big of a one should I do

One cup is 8 ounces in 32G is not much municipal water.

If you are concerned, then use activated charcoal.

It was a cup of water, salinity is good everything else is good ph went down a bit though went from 8.0 to 7.8 or 7.9 it’s a 32 gallon tank

You will be fine. Carbon will help if really needed.

A month ago both sides had it but changed one out and put something else in the media slot

Again, I think that you are overreacting. Normal pH fluctuation on wild IndoPacific reefs is 7.8-8.2.

That’s good. I just want to make sure my corals okay since they got hit with direct tap water. I’m still pretty new at this

I suggest you start a tank journal in member’s tank forum. You will find many conflicting opinions on how to run a reef, especially in newbie forum.

It's gonna be fine. The damage if there's even damage has already been done and there's not anything you can do to fix that.

I tap off with tap when I run out of RODI and /lazy

Whatever was in there is super diluted in your tank.

I doubt it is even the reason your nem is upset.
