Got this guy for free from saltwaterfish was curious where I went wrong tank has been up for around 6 months now and the nem was acclimated for about a hour, is it dead? It’s foot is still holding strong and it moved to where it is on its own it’s just covered in a nasty slime that looks like something I won’t say. It’s a green bubble tip about the size of a quarter. Edit: calcium etc is all where it is supposed to be, I think it may of been me picking it up and moving it into the tank?

what are your tank parameters?? lighting??
Alks a 9 and calcium is a 400 ammonia zero nitrate is less than 10, salinity is actually really low for a nem now that I think about it it’s at a 1.024. Is the nem dead looking or is this a normal thing that they do?

For me size isn't really a factor except when they are inflated. I have bubble tips that are 8 inches accross but smaller than a golf ball when deflated. The pic is a bit blurry but this nem does not look good at all. I can only see a spec of color. How long has it been in your tank? I've tried ordering nems online I think 3 times and everyone was doa.

2 days. It came all colorful and moved to where it is now and took hold but then just started looking like a spider covered it in web, and yes there is no green on it anymore. I’m going to throw it away.

Just removed it and it uhhh, was nothing but slime didn’t even resemble a anemone anymore upon further inspection.
