Excited to see the cosmetus! Z. xanthurum.. eh, Pooty is my heart tang.Good morning, Heathens and happy Friday to 'ya!
The bulk of yesterday was spent de-Christmafying the house. The gnomes hath been banished to the basement for another year. I still have more to do, but that will have to wait until later.
The new bulbs finally arrived yesterday, so I just swapped them out. We replaced 2 KZ super Blue, 1 Fiji Purple, and 1 ATI true actinic with 4 ATI Blue+. I'll have to see how the spectrum affects things and may need to adjust the K7's.
I also rearranged the reef room. Pardon the mess- it's still a work in progress:
The fish shipped from Michael's yesterday, so they should be arriving shortly. I'm surprised the shipment wasn't delayed due to the freezing temps. Let's hope everything arrives healthy.
Zebrasoma xanthurum (Purple Tang) and Halichoeres cosmetus (Adorned Wrasse).
More pics and maybe a video or two to follow later on today. Be sure to have a good day on purpose and finish your weeks like the rockstar heathens you are!
Namaste for now
The purple is being introduced because of Pootie. She is my absolute favorite, but she's a "see you next Tuesday" and her aggression toward my yellow is escalating. I figure the purple may spice things up a bit and cause her to spread the love around. Either that, or all hell is gonna break loose.Excited to see the cosmetus! Look at that chonker!!You know. They are a bit more interesting then I remember.
This one needs a diet
This one is just as boring as I remember unlike the Moorish idol which are actually pretty and interesting

Oof no bueno indeed. The package isn't even in DC yet. No Bueno.
Look. I saw the way you hung the jacket on the chair in your office and its a start. I just worry you may not be enough. Unfortunately as the only volunteer desperate times call for desperate measures and by the look of @Fish Styx sump he badly needs some chaos. You rang?

Can you bring reinforcements? Kids, greyhounds, maybe a bull covered in mud?
Hahaha, you think that a bull covered in mud is more chaos than my kids? My kids are two transitioned male adult dragon wrasses in a tank full of pink streaks and sand bed corals. Once they demolish everything and eat the pinkies, they'll work on each other.Look. I saw the way you hung the jacket on the chair in your office and its a start. I just worry you may not be enough. I'm not sure I'm sold on these orange nem guards. Don't get me wrong: they are direct replacements for the wet-side assembly guards, so in that respect they are f'n awesome. I just find the orange to be a bit "extra", even by my standards. I feel they distract from the exhibit. Maybe they'll grow on me.
Either way, they'll be in there for a while, as I have a nem coming on Thursday. Plus I'm lazy and don't want to swap them out again.
I have to redo one of my screen tops (far right),because I mangled it. I was planning on recycling the portals, but may go all in on the hooptie look and replace all of them with flourescent orange ones.
What say you, Heathens?
