Anyone else that may be interested in a Cronies Cristmas/Heathens Holiday gift exchange let me know. I'd like to get names drawn next weekend. We have 6 participants as of today. Pm me if you'd like to play along.

I use both, yes, and all of my demand is met. At this point, essentially all of my top off runs through the Kalk reactor in order to keep up with my alk demand (which is sky high). I run the CaRx at 1 drop per sec @ ph ~6.5 - 6.6, then run the effluent through a 2nd chamber containing dolomite to raise the ph. This not only supplements Cal, but adds magnesium (which I no longer test for), too.

Wow, I didn't know kalk had the capacity to keep up with this much demand. I guess running the reactor gives you the strongest solution.
Do you supplement alk with anything else?
Are you actively monitoring and trying to maintain a high PH?

Kalk is the single best thing you can dose in to your system for overall stability. Yes, I monitor ph via lab probe (Apex) in the sump (system ph), the kalk Reactor (solution saturation), and in the CaRx (controls CO2 release to maintain acidity).

All of my topoff flows through the Nielsen reactor and I do not need to supplement anything else for alk.

As for ph, I don't chase numbers too much. If I am over 8.0 I'm good. All systems are different, and mine tends to fluctuate between 8.0 and 8.2. Good enough for government work!
