I'm glad to hear you're doing well! I was thinking about you yesterday and popped in over at your place.

Good morning, Heathens and happy Hump Day!

Do any of you have any experience with marginally "reef safe" butterflies? I really don't want to sentence another CBB to death, and options for other Chelmon sp. are fairly limited. I'm considering a specimen from the Chaetodon complex for aip control, but have heard mixed feedback regarding their propensity to dine on stony coral polyps. Any input here would be greatly appreciated, specifically as it pertains to C. kleinii or C. auriga.

Many thanks in advance!

No experience but I've heard good reviews on the kleinii and have considered one in the past when the 125 was running and overrun.

No experience with butterflies, just lots of reading. Chaetodon isn't the worst of the lot but still in the category of "just a matter of time". The most reef safe is meant to be Hemitaurichthys, the pyramid butterflies. I don't know how well they do with Aip control, though, and I find their colors/patterns a bit drab. Maybe @i cant think has some info on this?
