I just got a red coris who is just starting color transition to go with my Dusky. Glad to see they will look as good together as I thought! I saw the coris at my LFS was so vibrant and active swimming all out front. Got it home and into QT and it came right out exploring the tank and rockwork. Added frozen plankton (bigger than traditional mysis) and it shot right after the food and sucked it down. Can't wait to get her in the tank with the Dusky. My Dusky is 6" (looks bigger). Grew so fast.

Went to my QT guy's facilities today. He has a display set up with a THICK H. lapillus, a choati, an earl, a johnsoni, a rhomboid and the cutest 2" M. negrosensis you can imagine (definitely need one of those).

macropharyngodon ornatus
That’s what I was kind of thinking but I always hear it referred to as the ornate leopard wrasse.

“Ornate” is a lazy name for an animal… Might as well call it the pretty leopard wrasse, the patterned leopard wrasse. Doesn’t help it isn’t more “ornate” then other leopard wrasse.

Anyone have recommendations of wrasses that would go well with my gang? Sadly - my yellow Coris wrasse died, my leopard wrasse died, and my exsquisite committed suicide (all within two months. Sigh)

My tank is a 125g 6’ tons of rockwork and sand

The remainder wrasses are a 6 line, pintail, Melanarius. Looking for two to replace. Could be mated non mated. Just need advice. Maybe the loss of the yellow was a fluke.

Tank stocking:
Yellow tang
Tomini
Sailfin
Orange shoulder
Powder blue
Red flame hawkfish
6 line
Pintail
Melanarius
Diamond goby
Jester goby
