You're awesome, thank you!

Someone was trying to get rid of this and a sailfin they have in a 55G, makes sense this is a huge wrasse.
Great fish if you have the tank for it! I wouldn't mind one for my big FOWLR, just have to find one big enough to avoid being eaten by the fimbriated moray. Don't want to put one in my other tank since I'll have some inverts in there.

Seems like it, there isn't too much info about them out there and they seem a bit rare. Definitely wouldn't want the moray to get a hold of it.

They're an atlantic fish, so unfortunately not as common in the hobby. Basically the same care as a red coris or any of the other larger sand sleeping wrasses in the hobby.

I’m slowly jumping on the wrasse train thanks to @i cant think. So far have a carpenter, line spot and just added a pair of equisite. I’m a little concerned about the female exquisite. The male keeps chasing her into a corner. I just got them Friday so new in the tank. Is this something that should settle down or what can/should I do? When I feed them, they both eat well and swim together, although she is a little skittish sometimes and darts away. It also appears that she has run into something as her nose has a white spot on it.

If I’m honest, it looks like you’ve got 2 male Exquisites. A female exquisite is much redder (more of a deep purple than red or green).
If your tank is large enough you may find you can keep both however it will likely become a case of having to rehome one.
I have successfully had same species and very closely related species cohabitate before however I did find there was always some form of aggression (albeit it flipped quite regularly with who was being chased).

Nope. Technically it's not truly a wrasse, but closely related.

The species is Scarus niger, the Dusky or Swarthy Parrot.
That was my next guess was a Scarus species. And S. niger is stunning at maturity. I’ve only seen 1 in person and it was a fairly nice sized adult, it made me question how nice a quoyi parrot actually is.

I have a established small ornate leopard wrasse (about 2½ inches) in my 80g/300 l tank (4 feet long), do you think it would be possible to add a small blue star leopard as well? Will it work long term when one goes male? Im guessing both wont.
