Don't let your skimmer overflow or really bad stuff happens.
Zoas open like never before

My fox coral got all swollen.

My rock flower started stretching out like never before.

Then started spawning

The spawn intensified after light out so I had to grab a flashlight

I had someone once tell me not running a skimmer was like making my fish live in toilet water. Some people are a bit narrow minded. I think I'm going back to letting them swim in the toilet. The responce I got when the skimmer filled the tank with crap was nothing but positive. I'm going to leave the skimmer off line for now.

Oh and I finally found something my CBBs will eat besides frozen food, tang poop :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: . I saw them chowing down on it yesterday but didn't get pics.

More ramblings
I wonder if the tank benifits having the glass scraped every few days instead of daily?
This is after scraping half of the glass after a few days accumulation

I need to get a better video, I have a hunch there may be little critters getting scraped off and not just algae. Maybe I should leave the side / end close to the wall alone and see what grows :thinking-face:

Found this awesome chunk of gsp. It has roots and sponges. Really cool stuff. It's about 6" end-to-end

It was between a rock and the overflow with a start growing on the overflow. This is tuff stuff. I've revived some after months in cold water with no light or flow.

I figured I would put it in the 170 and see if gsp can defeat gha. I've been adding a piece of gsp here and there and its doing well

I placed the rooty piece here. Should be similar conditions to where it was so hopefully it starts growing on the back.

Leathers are looking happy. Probably all that poison that spilled out of the skimmer.

The piece of leather I cut off the one lower right above is doing well.

I feed a lot and my N&P are already off the charts! Nitrate is actually 150+ and Phosphate is 1.5+. My skimmer is more for a little pH boost but since I have zero SPS, maybe don’t need it? The tank is on autopilot though — no WCs, no dosing, nada. Just fish power! lol

My coral seem to love high nutes, trates avg 80,Po4 1.-1.5 ,no water changes much less even filter socks/reactors not cleaned /changed over last yr and a half,SPS grow albeit slower than i'd like ,oversized skimmer running 24/7
just sayin'... :winking-face: :)
