Hi there! I got this light from a friend and I need your expertise if this is good for my 50 gal reef tank? Please advise.

not alone being that it is only 60w unless you are going with just lower light corals. It is also pretty old and i dont think sold anymore so age could have made it worse

You can use it as a complimentary light/fill. Probably not good stand alone, again depending on what you have in your tank. Vertex made some really nice stuff. But don't discount 50 or a 100 par in the shadows...
