Hi Gang, so my tank is set up I’ve done all my water testing and everything is good, the only thing that is high is water PH it’s around 100, we are in a hard water area, is this going to be bad for my fish or inverts?

Is there a way to lower this?

Thanks in advance!

There is no way your Ph is 100, that is a testing error...

Be sure you are using RO/DI water to start to remove all dissolved solids before mixing in salt.

It is I swear, so when we set it up we were just provided with salt water, no RO, we were told we don’t need RO to begin with?

max Ph to my knowledge is 14 - and at that level, we're talking about an extremely corrosive base. Definitely re-test - what are you using to test?

Hmmm, I will I’m female not clever at all but pretty sure it’s 100.. I will be back!
The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a substance is. It ranges from 0 (most acidic) to 14 (most basic), with 7 being neutral.

I would strongly recommend you purchase a higher quality test kit. The strips are great for a quick, indicative reading, but are not reliable or accurate for proper testing. I can personally recommend the Red Sea marine care test kit: https://amzn.to/3PcTC7V
