Weird alien life found

Recently had these off looking mushrooms alien things pop up. They are both fleashy and sit on top of some kind of stocks. Help!

Could be a macroalgae, similar to mermaid's cup.

It does resemble this, although a different color;

Yeah tried, but unfortunately their in the middle back and only about 1/4" in size.

Yeah I’ve seen them go back and forth but also when they die they turn white. See through white.

Taking a look at this with new eyes today (I got tagged on this in another thread; Acetabularia/Mermaid's Wine Glass was my first thought as well) - do the things have two little holes/openings/spouts anywhere? Do they inflate/deflate or expand/contract at all?

I havent see them change in shape, but I can't tell if they have any kind of openings. I would pull the rock to get a better view. But it's in the middle bottom holding up half of my display. I might have to wait and see if they grow/ multiply and try again.
