never kept clams before but plan on trying 1 lighting is no problem i will have 2* hydra 64HD tank will have a eel in i will have good filtration but lets just assume the water quality will probs not be perfect

Start by getting this book and reading it first to have a better understanding of their requirements, size, care, etc... Depending on how much space you have (both on the rock work and sand) available will help determine what specie(s) will do best in your tank. My top 3 choices for beginners are derasa, squamosa and crocea.
But regardless, no one has perfect water, but you should strive for stability. You mentioned an eel, what species? They may not be compatible with clams?

banana eel and yeah that was gonna be my next question haha

this is the exact eel i will be getting and it is a fang tooth (not sure if pebbletooth are the ones that eat clams)
