I've never had one disappear on me before. I think feeding them will increase their lifespan because I do that sometimes. I love the little thingsPineapple sponge, not particularly harmful. They pop up quickly and disappear just as quick.
They have grown ALL around my heater, seems like they like it hot!I've never had one disappear on me before. I think feeding them will increase their lifespan because I do that sometimes. I love the little things
Yep, what JTP424 said. Pineapple sponges. Filter feeders, means you have good water too. I'll get them all over in sump with a mature tank. They're harmless

How do I get rid of pineapple sponge? Scrub it off? Is there any fish that eat it or inverts, And Yeah I had bought two 20-30lbs rocks that were 6 years old from my local fish store, took them out after 2 months because they didn’t match the rest of rocks in the tank, just wanted to use them to cycle the tank quick, my tank is 6 months old, my refugium area always grows green then sometimes it grows some dark purple or red algae , but that just started and I just started getting green hair algae, should I get some turbo snails or a sea urchin? I have a big moray eel, a ca stingray, and a trigger!Yep, what JTP424 said. Pineapple sponges. Filter feeders, means you have good water too. I'll get them all over in sump with a mature tank. Awesome, yeah they could also be tunicates/ascidians which is also a advanced filter feeder it says but cool thanks for the help. They are some sort of sponge. They aren't harmful. They are actually a sign of a healthy tank. Manual removal would be the only way. I would give them a few weeks and I'm sure they will disappear without having to do anything. Don't overfeed etc and they will have less to eat.
I'm no expert on refugiums so someone else is going to have to chime in on that.
