No to both. Also my corals do not care much about my water chemistry . Sal 1.0264
KH =7 NO3 =3 PO4 = 0.6
You are absolutely correct, I've kept montipora in some extreme conditions and it chugged it like any other day. Looks more like something walked across it and it's just sliming up. I've had them send off 4 inch-ish strings of slime after my scorpionfish perched on them for a while. It looks as if you're lights are off which any coral will look dull and faded in that situation. It's nothing to worry about the Facebook boys made their way over here to give bad advice. You're good though, all i see is a Monti that got put in a bad mood.OK, just referring to the fact that the fluctuations in parameters in recent years had no apparent Effect. Picture is at night with a flesh. Nothing is bleaching If anything it’s growing too fast shading other corals. Phosphate is always too high in my tank because I have many fish.

Do you have scientific proof that that's the case? There is countless tanks outthere that have high phosfates and chugging along just fine. Here is my tank, with phosfates of .9 at the time of picture. I have about 70 different corals in here with about 30-40 acropora frags and colonies. Again, I'm not the only one with high phosfates and good results.That's not sliming. That's flesh falling off during bleaching process. .6 is too high even for a monti cap.
Why won't you use lanthinum chloride? It's great for bringing down phos when your nitrate is low like yours. I have used tropic marin elimi phos for 2 years no sweat. Just go low on dosage and put it in before skimmer. I use an upside down water bottle with a pinhole in cap to drip it in. No effect on fish. The person who had the fish Wipeout used a pool product which prob had so many other chemicals residue in it.
I had a feeling you where going to take my comment wrong way. I was just referring to your comment even earlier to OP post. He clearly posted saying that his Monti is doing good and growing. And obviously not bleaching like you mentioned, becouse next picture he show is a proof that nothing is wrong with his Monti. Saying your tank is "scientific proof" meant just an opinion to me. My acropora growing just fine in my "toilet water"Yes my tank is the scientific proof. When my phosphate gets to high my sps growth slows considerably. When I make a conscientious effort to keep it between .1 and .2 it picks up again. My lps and softies makes no difference. If your phos is high your corals are living in a toilet. While zoas and mushrooms may explode in a toilet sps wont. And since we are chest puffing tanks

I have 17 fish in a 75 and feed heavy so I know about a toilet tank.
