If it’s anything like the tank I’m sure you will be very happy! I would have jumped on this one if it fit for me. I’m not an expert by any means. But my newbie eye could see the difference from everything I’ve looked at. I spent months before making a decision. Best of luck! Congrats!
thanks

I just went through this same process. Ended up with IM 170 ext. The shop I use has a custom 180 from GC for sale. It’s brand new , the customer bailed. He’s selling for an extreme discount. It didn’t fit my space. If interested I can definitely put you in touch. The tank is absolutely gorgeous! I believe 50% of retail.
Thank you, 180 is a little smaller thabk I want.. and it has to be peninsula style. Bc it's gonna be seen from 2 rooms. Thank you though. I think I'm going to go with the simple metal stand. I have a woodshop at my house bc I do custom furniture. So I plan I building the casing around the metal frame myself.

The answers will be based on owner preferences, so you will get many opinions. Having had a retail pet store and attending many shows which I still do, My personal favorites have been:
Oceanic (now only used)
Glass cages
Planet aquarium
Tenecor
Custom Aquariums ( Wisconsin)

Caution on RedSea Aquariums as they have too many tanks out there with poor sealing, leaking and even glass blowout)
I was so happy to read your response. My tank I started 2 months ago is a used oceanic.

I spent the night looking at different manufacturers and their work. Seems like glass cages really offers a value for the same quality of work. There's a manufacturer 20 min from my house but I emailed them over a week ago and still haven't heard boo. I reached out to @Joe Glass Cages to discuss the build and see what he thinks. I'm going to go with the basic metal stand bc I have a woodshop at my house and I build custom furniture so I plan to make the casing myself.

@danreef55 , how long has your order been in? How was the process?

I don't think i would even consider red sea, I've seen too many seam issues with them to put my full confidence in them. And they're super expensive. But they do come basically complete. Which for me is a waste, since I have almost everything I need to set this up mechanically.

I placed the order on 8-14 and the promise date was approximately mid-November and that is still the target. I made some minor changes with no issue. The customer service has been great. Joe even took me on a facetime tour of the facility. It is approximately 40,000 sqft if I remember correctly and laid out very nicely. Thus far I give them an excellent rating

IM is having a pretty good sale right now. The 170 EXT is 50% off and cheaper than a lot of their smaller tanks.

I've had alot of different brands over the years but the best non custom tank I've had is my current Innovative Marine 220. Thicker glass compared to others and solid glass eurobracing with coast to coast overflow. If you catch there 50 percent off sale they are hard to beat on price shipped to your door.
