Long story short my RS XL 300 blew out the front seam.

Part of the agreement with red sea to get a warranty replacement tank is I have to dispose of the old tank so it won't be used as an aquarium again. So resealing isn't an option, nor am I interested in doing that.

Anything else I could do with these 10-12mm thick sheets of glass? Roughly 3'x2' for the front, bottom and back; and 2'x2' for the sides.

I'm curious what you folks can come up with. Thanks!

Use them as table tops!
Or throw them up on craigslist, as individual panes.

This is an issue I am dealing with. My tank was not able to be replaced. 1 year old but I was not the original owner. It needs resealing, front panel. We can't move it easy. It is a RED SEA 425. I am going to take everything that can be used off of this. Getting a Planet tank. So much for the plug and play. However, we are not really young and moving this thing is a pain. Thinking of breaking down the glass and making something out of the pieces. Cut it to design.

Build a terrarium. Glass work isn’t too hard or you can even take the panels to a glass shop and usually they will cut them for you. Flip the tank on one of its short ends and make a tall narrow terrarium! Could be a really unique build.

Then you would need a side piece. Good thought.

I was thinking of creating a shorter tank, more low and then make it a planted aquarium going freshwater. Perhaps we will try to reseal and keep it freshwater the way it is. It just so big as a spare tank.

I considered building a vivarium out of my Reefer 250 following the seam issues, but the challenge is cutting tempered glass.

I personally opted to just dispose of it, less hassle.
