Brightwell aquatics ferrion contains Fe3+ form of iron and most other brands of iron supplements contain Fe2+ is there a reason for this? But I wanted to know which is more readily absorbed by macro algaes

That’s not a question with a simple answer (literature varies and the form changes in the water), but more significantly I think they use too strong of a chelator (EDTA). I recommend ferrous gluconate. .

I sadly just can't seem to find pure ferrous gluconate without the mixture of other vitamins meant for human consumption, hence I wanted to ask which brand of iron supplementation do you find the best? The brands which are currently available to me are

Brightwell aquatics ferrion

Seachem iron

Aqua forest iron booster

Try looking up "lab grade X" instead of just "X."

Most of the OTC drugs have filler and dyes which you don't necessarily want to add to your tank, but you're not going to get a link to the pure stuff unless you specifically look for it.

I live in the south part of india, it's sadly not available online without having additives such as folic acid or vitamin b12 mixed in

Seachem Fluorish iron seems fine to me.

I really appreciate the help! I've been dosing chaetogro and it seems that the amount of nutrients my algae is sucking is more than the amount of iron chaetogro provides

Have you noticed any improvements whilest using flourish iron?

I’ve not used it. I have primarily used diy ferrous citrate and ferrous gluconate. Seachem claims to be the latter, but I cannot confirm anything beyond what they claim.
