Hi everyone, I’ve noticed small white bugs crawling on the glass and rocks in my 125-gallon tank. They’re very tiny, almost microscopic, and seem to move quickly. Can anyone help identify what they might be and whether they’re harmful to my reef system? Should I be concerned, and what steps, if any, should I take to address them? Thanks in advance!

I expect they are a copepod of some description.

I sure hope so
I do dose my own tigger pod culture but these definitely are not tiggers
I have literally a billion of these little white dudes in my Refugium
I just hope they are friendly not a pest I need to get rid of
No corals have seen to be bothered by them…
And they only come out when the lights are dim or at night then the lights are off

Looks like some kind of copepod. You’ll probably need a microscope if you want to narrow down the identification.

Red bugs are just one example of a copepod many would call not so great. To say all are great is not true unless your definition of great differs from mine.
Not looking to argue, I’m done, have a good night!
