Hi all,

One of my Hammers has been fairly infested with micro white bugs over the last few weeks, and my usual dips have not had any effect on them - so I was hoping to get some opinions on the Bayer insecticide dip.

As mentioned above, I can see countless tiny, tiny white bugs crawling all over this particular Hammer. I've had it for many months now but this infestation is recent, and it hasn't seemed to cross over to any of the other nearby Hammers. The coral is still extending well but it's clearly bothered, and hasn't been as puffy as it once was.

I've tried a few dips, including a CoralRX dip which usually works really well but it seemed to have no effect on these bugs. I've heard about the Bayer Insecticide dip being super effective on everything so I'm willing to give it a shot, but I've never done it before.

What's the proper mixture for a Bayer Insecticide dip? Also - how safe is it for LPS corals?

Any help would be appreciated!

I have used Bayer Bioadvanced complete insect killer. It's a white waterbased liquid. I don't measure. A few tablespoons into a quarts of water. Dunked everything 10-15min from sps, lps, sofites and never had any problem.

Will it work on the tiny white bugs? I don't know. SPS keepers with tiny bugs use Interceptor. Could be worth a try since it's easy to get the Bayer.

My guess is if it worked they would be using it though.
