I received this from a friend. It was brown and did not know what it was. He had no clue about. I got it in February this year. 2 weeks later under high light it turned light pink

most likely its new growth it looks healthy! :)
you can go to petco and buy a api calcium and alk testits not that horrible gives you ball park numbers, if it looks to far off just test again! i think its like 5 or 10 dollars each so its not that bad for keeping track of whats happening in the tank. comes with instructions and vials

Yeah that looks to be new growth, when they really take off they have a tendency to look like they have burnt tips or were eaten.

The pictures were taken 4 months apart. It is definitely a fast grower.

That is Insane!! I love Millis but ever since i got one that didnt do much for me I decided to stay away from them. A got one 2 months ago but it never grew or did anything for me, what lights are you running?

I have a 6-bulb dimmable ATI Sunpower with a Reefbrite XHO blue LED strip. I also keep fairly high nutrients - nitrates at 10ppm and PO4 at .08.

nice! what made you try keeping po4 so high? i've always been told to keep it lower than .02 if not 0

I tried chasing numbers and drove myself crazy (crazier?). My acros were looking good and growing well, so I gave up trying to lower nutrients. My tank has found its natural balance so I stopped trying to "fix" it. So far, so good.

Full zero is a bad move, corals will struggle unless your dosing heavy on the supplements.
high import and high export is the only way you can keep it at 0.00
by feeding reef chilli or reef roids .

my nitrates i keep at 5 max and always do a water change if i get to 10 for some reason

Strangely enough, it was my LFS who suggested that I actively lower my nutrients. That was strange because he had some truly ugly acros that turned beautiful in my tank. So maybe I should have schooled him on raising his nutrients. Lol.

This actually looks like a purple Stylophora Milka. I have one that is 4 yrs. old and the white tips are normal for it.
