Do you use seawater? I live at the beach and have thought about trying it

Yes, seawater. Where do you think your fish came from? :D

If I have access to it, I always use it. ASW is after all Fake Sea water and unless you have fake fish, go for the real thing.

Not a huge fan at the moment. Water changes are not super hard for me. I can do up to 20g and mix it right next to the tank and can pump it in. Disposing of old water and water change equipment clean up sucks. I have to dump water down a drain 5g buckets at a time and all mixing equipment needs to be moved back into the garage. I really want to take over a closet under the stairs for a water mixing and equipment storage but the wife is currently not having it. My next option is setup in the garage and use long hose to pump water to the tank and syphon old water into the drain. The garage solution has the issues of 100+°f for 5-6 months of the year.

Thank you for this thread. It reminded me to do the water change. I’m still freshwater but am trying to get into better habits before going salt. I want to start doing 10% weekly and it went super fast this time, there’s no reason for me not to do it. My fish thank you as well. I don’t know why I don’t like to do them, I think it’s not even the task specifically just procrastination like someone else mentioned.

I do a 15G water change every week on my 65G. Love a clean tank. I have big poopers and need a bigger tank. My tank is high nutrient/fish are happy and so are my zoathids. Can't keep SPS happy. Working on lowering the nitrates but for now....love my frequent water changes, my happy fish, and my happy LPS.

Now that I can do a water change simply by turning a few valves, they dont bug me a bit LOL. I still need buckets for the 75g and I dislike that.

I do 25 gallon water changes every other week and I'm just sitting here looking at my tank thinking I really want to do another water change even though it's not till next weekend, ha. I've gotten it down to where I can do a 25 gallon water change in under 15 minutes. So anyone else here like doing water changes?
Me. Good excercise for arms

I actually enjoy doing maintenance and water changes on my 93 cube with 24 gallon sump. I find it relaxing and it gives my youngest son and I some time together to enjoy the tank.

I don't enjoy them, but I don't dread them either since I have everything plumbed to my basement. Flip a couple valves hit a couple smart switches on my phone and never have to leave the front of my tanks! Not completely automated (Only because I don't trust it :))
