How do I get rid of all the green stuff on the rocks and in the substrate? 5 month old tank, 32.5gallon with 5 snails and 4 hermits. I never turn the white lights on because it looks bad, keep it on the blue/purple/pink

algae is very normal in a reef tank, especially at 5 months old, this is what we call "the ugly stage".

I don't see any powerheads in your tank, I would add one or two to get more flow, flow helps against algae. Also increase the number of snails as the algae increases, this is how you keep it in check.

I wouldn’t worry about it, tanks will go through many algae blooms until they are fully established
