So I have a scoly that was damaged by an electric blue hermit crab so I put it on a frag rack. It’s been healing nicely now for about a month but I started to notice some king of growth from the underside cant explain it to well so I’ll just post some pics. Hope this helps for an answer.

That looks like coralline or sponge… if it’s sponge, I would scrape it off; it grows much faster than the coral and can cause issues. If it’s coralline, the scoly is unlikely to regrow over it but it should not cause any issues.

Really cool!!

Remembered reading this a while back:

Would be interested in the length of time to get where it is and an update on growth from time to time.

Was the bottom completely cut / scrapped somehow?

Those electric blue hermits sure do like to munch! I think it probably growing another head, it seems to be something that happens to scolys when they get damaged on the back based on some of my research. Pretty exciting, although I’m not sure how to make sure both get proper lighting?

You should see if someone can 3d print a stand like the one they had in the vid that will allow you to grow both sides.

I’m sure at some point you may be able to detach the little booger.

Just a thought, but if something like legos don’t float, it could be built!

That’s sounds like a good idea just need to find someone that can 3D print me something. I read that article and seems like I could frag it in like 3 months
