My corals have not been opening barely at all for probably a couple months now. Thought to just ride things out and do my water changes but now I’ve come for help. Don’t know what could be causing it and what to get others opinions.

Alk 7.7
Phos .04
Nitrate 3.7
Calcium 480 little high
Mag 1280
Salinity 1.027 touch high

Posting some pictures below. Thought gsp would grow in my trash can as others have said it’s so dang hardy haha. Haven’t touched my light schedule at all either. These corals been in my tank for at least 6 months to 12 months.

My GSP always looks like that when nitrate drops below 5-10ppm, see if raising it a tad helps?

Alk is also low, I found 9.5-10 is a sweet spot for my tanks.

Adjust these slowly, alk shouldn’t be raised more than 0.2-0.5 a day.
Raising your magnesium to 1320-1350 can help keep alk more stable, I would do that before adding KH buffers.

Salinity should be 1.025
Calcium around 400-500 should be ok. GSP, and Zoa don't care about Calcium since they are softies.

I agree with the others, GSP and Zoa like a bit more of a dirty water.

They both thrive in tanks with much higher nutrients. Try bumping phosphate up to.05-.1 and nitrate up to 10-15.
Try to get nitrate up it just never goes up, I’m gonna shut my skimmer off for a few days and see what’s up. Also the phos always goes from .02 to almost .2 and can never keep it stable.

Never had an issue with any params until recently. Going to work getting my alk up and a little more mag. Corals never seemed to care honestly so I don’t know what gives now

I do need to drop salinity a bit but always kept it at 1.026. Shutting my skimmer off to raise nitrates and we’ll see what happens

What kind of light do you have at what intensity? on what size tank? How is flow?
Two ai primes on 40 long IM tank. Running around 50% and everything has been great zoas we’re growing like crazy. Running two Nero 3s and flow is good nothing too crazy but nice movement

Yes cut back on skimming, decrease frequency and amount of water changes and increase feeding. It will eventually find a balance and stabilize. Happy reefing.
