Some corals play nicely with others from the same general types (e.g., acans, recordea, some euphylia) but others fight.

Anyone know what happen when to different strains of cyphastrea touch?

Don’t know the answer but I’ve seen two different cyphastrea destroy favia by touching them

Bummer, I was hoping for an island of colorful cyphasrtria.

Thanks for saving me and the corals from the failed experiment.
That was my plan. I had this real cool rock for it and everything. It's still cool but its killing the expensive ones off is all! Lol

I'll have a few running into each other before too long, we'll see how that goes.

I just read cyphastrea cant grow together and have no sting. They did say there wouldnt meet and there would be a growth line. I just got quite a few cheap on an auction. I never like encrusting corals but thought I would give it a try since they were so cheap. ialso have encrusting monti, does anyone know if i can mix the two? I read they both don't sting.

i have a blossoming meteorshower that can't get close to a lime green cyphastrea, last night was the first time that i was able to check them out after being in the dark for 2 hrs and noticed the green giving the meteor shower the business. The green isn't spreading onto the surrounding rocks like the meteor but it is killing off any part of the meteor that tries getting close
