I have a chance to buy this carpet. I'm wondering if it's a bleached blue or bleached purple? Thoughts? Good news is that it's sticky, mouth is tight, foot attached to the basket, and no tears anywhere on the foot or column!
Pic taken under Radions with high white LED to show the true color.

Actually purple blue in many cases and blue common. Bleaching may have stemmed from too much light

It's a fresh import. It's been at the LFS for 5 days now.

Allow it time while focusing on light flow and water quality. If its aquaculture, they typically get bright light.

That look like a large purple Haddoni. The color will change a bit as he recover. These animals are not aquaculture. WC for sure.

Hope it turns to deep rich purple. I'm heading to the store tonight to check it out one more time and likely bring it home.
It should look good next to these guys!

Well, I brought it home. It's definitely blue AND it's a gigantea! Blue/purple verrucae I couldn't see last time I was at the store. Tentacles are long and thin.
Acclimating it now. More pics ro come once in tbe tank.

Nope. It is not showing any signs that it needs isolation or treatment. It attached immediately to the rock, fully inflated, tentacles remain very sticky, mouth is very tight.

My fingers (and toes) are crossed for you! I've had to treat every single gig I've had.

How long have you had the yellowish-green anemone?

Thank you for the well wishes! My fingers are crossed too! I've been wanting/searching, for a blue gigantea for years and truly hope I can keep this one happy and healthy! With the exception of being a bit bleached, it has everything else going for it.
I've had the 'yellow', haddoni for about 2 months. It was sold as a 'lemon ice' carpet, which we know is really just a bleached green, but it was only $100 so I am giving it a chance. It's buried its foot, is very sticky, mouth is tight, has been fully inflated this past 2 months, and is taking small bits of shrimp. Hopefully it will start to regain color soon.

Which vendors are you guys buying haddonis from? A lot of the stuff I am seeing are wild imports susceptible to disease.

All haddoni are wild imports. I get most of mine from my LFS. CoralsAnonymous has several. AquaSD has several.

I meant more established. Not the churn and burn. Ideally reefers that have had them for awhile but those are rare to come by.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
