May need to buy a new router, one I have now is relatively old… if so, if I keep the same SSID and password will apex automatically reconnect?

What’s the least painful way to swap routers?

Alternatively if anyone can tell me why some devices (one apex, a Red Sea ato, a computer) and why some (a different apex, smart tv, iPad, some Red Sea reefdoses, my phone) won’t connect to WiFi I’m pulling my hair out… have rebooted modem and router and devices… Internet provider said no issues on their end. This was all after a power outage ( and yes some of these devices are on a ups and so was router and modem…)

In theory yes using old SSID and password will work, but some devices don't always reconnect.

I switched from a NETGEAR nighthawk to eero meshed router. Don’t have an apex but several WiFi devices on my tank and yes if you keep same ssid and password it should all reconnect. At least everything in my house did including tank equipment.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
