We will have some pump only upgrades for 6205 and 6305 users, next week. They are about half what a 6255 runs and use your existing power supply and magnet since they are the same.

Sounds like a cool offer Roger. Where do we find out about the details? I have 2x6205's I'd like to trade in.

Wayne,

Well my girlfriend is fine with fish friends coming over :). If you want to come this direction and play with the 6255 in my tank the invitation is there.

Dave B

That's a very kind offer Dave and understanding of your gf. But this trade up offer sounds like a good deal. I'll probably do it just because my colonies are getting pretty big and I'm worried they're blocking a lot of water flow.

You wouldn't have to send anything in, it is a pump only and uses your existing magnet holder and power supply. Just shoot me a PM.

If anyone decides to swap out the MP60 with this or already has please post your experience or research. I am seriously thinking about swapping out the MP60's but just need more info. I don't understand how Vortech is rated so high but they both produce the same flow. I know it was explained as undertow vs flow but why such a large divination?

Without the snout on the pump, the flow that a pump puts out, gets sucked right back in, the flow was measured at point blank essentially, it is very different at even a foot away which is where they start to even and at a distance of 5 ft the 6255 has a higher flow velocity.
