“Dry” looking flesh acros

Hey y’all, I’ve noticed a few times people mention this and what the cure/issue was for them. Seeing dry skin and losing zooxanthellae on green slimer, ultimate blue stag, and a couple others.

Curious if folks have a pinpointed issue causing this.
Established SPS keeper here, I can follow up with params etc.

IF I'm thinking the same thing you are, I've put some testers in super high nutrient water and that was enough to cause a slimer to look ultra rough, lose pigment and ultimately peel. I've had torts straight peel in the same conditions. If you're talking about losing colors and becoming "grey" in my experience it appeared to be some sort of water contaminant, something getting passed my RODI
