So my ro/di unit had been working flawlessly, 0 TDS for over a year. The first carbon filter started looking a little dark and the di resin was about half used (color changing resin) so I thought I’d be proactive and change out everything, including sediment filter and ro membrane.

I’ve now flushed thru about 64 gallons of water and my inline tds meter is still showing 1-2 tds. I cleaned the probes with rubbing alcohol, but still am getting the same 1-2 result.

How long does “flushing” the ro membrane take? Some sites said an hour or so. This has been much longer.

Did you flush each section before adding in the next? (Section 1= sediment and carbon(s), section 2= membrane, section 3 = di). Also, what's your TDS from the tap?

My tap water is about 60 tds.

I did not flush each section individually. :-/

What does that mean? Did initial carbon discharge contaminate the ro membrane?

No. I’ve ordered one, to use as a second opinion to the inline probe.

What would this measurement tell us? What would a 2 mean, vs a 30 ?

Did you install your DI cartridge upside down?

Unscrew the housing and look at the cartridge - is the big black rubber washer/gasket at the to or at the bottom?

If you're using an inline TDS meter, are the probes rotated correctly in the tees?
