125g Bar build

So I've been lurking here for a while and notice I never haven't put up a tank thread. I have one going in Manhattan Reefs. I'll go ahead and copy the data over since I've been spending more time here.

A little information about me. I've been in the hobby for about 12 years now. I started of with a standard 125g with HOB overflow and a 55g sump. I sold the 125 to setup up a custom 100g cube. I then broke down this tank in 2012 because we bought a house and in knew it would be some time before I would be able to set it up. In May of this year, I was approached by one of my "Fish Geek" friends ( <- that's what the wife calls us) who had a friend that was opening a shop in the Bronx and was getting a tank at cost and wanted me to help him build a stand. I asked him for pricing and could not pass up on the 125.

Something is missing here!

So... I just finished renovating my basement and more importantly the bar. Here are some before and after pix.

Aside from the liquor (which added shortly after this pic), something is missing. .... say 125g tank.

It will share a space in my machine room (very old boiler and hot water heater). I expect this to be a slow build and will update this thread as stuff gets done. here is were the tank/fish room will be.

So I did a little bit of work over the weekend. Took down the shelves and cabinet. I also cut the stood and framed what will be the opening in the wall. It going to be a little tight with the water heater. not to worried about that since we're hoping to change the whole heating system next spring. anyways, on to the pix...

ok... I was able to fix the issues with the pix from this past weekend. Now to more updates. I took off today to get some real work done on this stand.

ok... my stand and fish room is painted gray, sump ghetto rigged, I have a hole in my wall and I'm tired....

ok... so I got a lot more work done this weekend. Sump was plumbed and is up and running (including my frankenskimmer), Center supports were added, electrical was started and the tank was brought down.

So I got some plumbing done tonight. I with a bean overflow. The front will be a full siphon, the middle is the emergency and the last is the open channel. Let me know if you see any issue so far. I also decided to go with blue for the background color.

oh wow... have some updating to do tonight. Tank is up and running. Temp controller was added. I'll be adding the lights tonight.

aquascaping was started. I don't hate it but not in love with is either. I guess it will be a work in progress.

ahhhh... I wish I had a kegerator. just a reg beer fridge. Christmas and New Years wiped me out. Have to re up. I usually have blue moon, Corona, Guinness, and some micro brew... been a fan of the pumpkin ale's lately.

I really haven't liked the way my lights were setup and was thinking of adding some T5 to help with the shadowing of the LED's. Soooo. I made a PVC light rack.
Here is the way my LEDs are setup and hung:

I made this Light rack last night and am hoping to have the t5's and LED's bolted up this evening.
Rack is upside down here. I will mount the t5s to the two PVC's running the length of the rack.

The LEDs will be mounted to a 2 separate pieces of PVC that will run the width of the rack. They will just rest on top so that I can slide them out of the way as needed. Hope to have a finish pic this evening.
