I was ordering plumbing parts on BRS for the new grow out system. I was in the zone, schedule 80 this and schedule 80 that, add a few schedule 80 gate valves and can't forget the schedule 80 check valve, the new build high was at its peak. I about hit submit order until I looked at the total. I said to myself, "You idiot, what are you doing! This just needs to be functional not a dang masterpiece." I deleted my cart and ordered all schedule 40 parts and saved $175.00

I'm proud of myself for having the strength to keep it simple.
Good luck. When I was doing this I had 10 x 10 gallon tanks plumbed together to a 55 gal sump on a 2 x 4 structure. Pretty basic but very functional.

Hey I'm curious how you get the fry out of the vossen trap. That has been such a struggle for me! As soon as I lift the trap out of the tank all of the water pours out. I'm collecting shrimp larvae and need to find a way to safely get the larvae from my trap to grow out. Thanks in advance.

Day 28, almost a month. I still have 4 healthy juveniles.

I test filled my hand me down grow out tanks today, sanded and polished it afterwards. I found a bad seal right behind the return. I have some weld on #4 on the way. The tank turned out great after the wet sanding and polish. My wife tried to put her hand inside the tank but hit acrylic instead lol

New plumbing will be here Monday or Tuesday after I set the bulkheads and internal plumbing I will start on my stand.

I cover the screen with my hand and move quickly. If you tip the trap slightly screen up it allows more water to stay inside for the trip.
