Been doing maintenance on this 250 fancy goldfish tank for about the past 6 months for a long time friend. Countless hours have gone into priming it for long term success. We decided to change up the aquascape last night going for a simpler design and to make room to start planting it. It cleared up pretty well overnight after taking out a couple hundred pounds of rock stirred up a ton of detritus that was stuck under the rocks. This allows me to have a much cleaner tank though considering how much these fish are fed and how much they poop it’s night and day how much cleaner and healthier the water and tank look overall. Soaking the fake background plants in vinegar going to put them back in after today’s water change. Also Painted the Oak stand and aquarium to match. No room under the stand for a sump unfortunately because the opening is against the wall but the tank stays pretty clean considering the bioload! Thank you!
