Made a control board, got the tank filled and started mixing salt in yesterday. Have 2 mp60s and two xf280s running.

Got sand in last week and finished making my screen top. I used a fabric called tulle (tool) as the screen and it's almost invisible. Looks way better than the plastic mesh, only con is its delicate, but it's very cheap to replace.

Looking good. What made you decide to only put starboard on part of the tank? High flow area?
Originally that was part of my thought process, thought I would need a ton of flow to hit the far end and it would deflect the flow downward and move sand. I also just wanted the best of both worlds, the surface area of sand and I want wrasse. Was going to originally have just sand in the middle, but changed my mind while cutting the starboard.

Swapped some of the fish over from my other tanks, started running the clarisea, cleaned and installed my skimmer from my old tank(its small but I think it will be fine with the clairisea).
And finally hung the lights and turned them on this afternoon.
Turning the lights on made the tank look bigger and has been the most exciting thing since getting the tank.

I also got in my kalk stirrer KM-200, and plan to buy a couple 90 gallon water tanks next week and build a mixing station.

Still haven't messed with the flow, so sand is still getting pushed where I dont want it, hoping it wont blow so bad as the tank matures.
Fish: corris wrasse, yellow tang, tomini tang, lyretail anthias, lawnmower blenny, orchid dottyback, royal gramma

nice man cave. you need a beer fridge and a few comfy chars and you will be all set.
oh and maybe a camping mat for when "you're in the dog house" for spending to much $$ of fish tank stuff.

So after I tested the water and bumped the kh up to 9, my neighbor hooked me up with some tester frags and a solar wrasse for the tank.

Last 5 days or so I've started to get what I assume are diatoms, they have gotten darker but so far they aren't the stringy bubbly kind. I've been dosing about 35 mg a day of microbactor clean, I'm hoping that will help with the ugly stage.

Today I added a third gyre xf280 to the upper part of the overflow horizontally and have it on random mode up to 100% so I've got some good flow now. I'm hoping it'll help keep the sand off the starboard..

Frags have been in 8 days and so far so good, I have a millepora, a tenuis, a monti digi, a green slimer and some granulosa so far.

Can't wait to see how this build goes. I have a 6x3x2 "new to me" tank I'm getting ready to start on so I'm definitely interested to see the progress of how you do yours as I start.
You start on the tank yet? I'm getting a quote for a 72x36x24 Planet Aquariums tank right now. Can't wait to get it set up.

Had some diatoms or some brown growth start on rocks and glass, been dosing microbactor clean. Now getting an explosion of coraline algae, so much that with only 6 drags dkh went down from 9 to 8 in about 10 days.

Been dosing more often and last week and yesterday added 20 plus frags, mostly from acro breeder on youtube. Everything is doing well so far.

Plan to hook up the apex soon.

I haven't set it up yet. My original plan was to use it with my Ato, but then I realised that would be dosing a fully saturated kalk slurry every time the ATO kicked on. So I may have to run it on a timer for now.
I'm just starting to get corals in there, so I've just been dosing sodium bicarb so far.

Been dripping kalk into the sump and making small adjustments to dkh every few days, had one frag rtn on me.
Also added a few fish mostly tangs: purple, powder blue, powder brown, scopas, 2 convict, blue, lemonpeel and two blue spot jawfish
