Thank you to everybody for all the feedback. Simply for the hardware setup, here is what I'm thinking. Thoughts and input are welcomed!

Tunze Comline 3163 Filter
Tunze Comline DOC Skimmer 9001
Red Sea LED 90 & Mounting Arm
Red Sea Reefwave
Hanna Complete Test Kit

Other than those items, I think I'm ready to purchase the live rock & sand and get to cycling!

Are you going to be running a sump? Both of the tunze products you have there are in tank options. Hang on back would be better for you if not.

You know, I thought about a HOB. But what I've researched/seen is that the Tunze filters do a great job by themselves. I like a few of the features too, like the hidden compartment for the heater, and that the auto top-off can be hidden in it as well.

You just don't want them taking up space inside your display. It will get cluttered very quick. I use a HoB skimmer and a regular HoB filter on my tank. I have no complaints about either. The filter is nice for cleaning my water surface and being able to add carbon, filter floss, or chempure if need be. Skimmer can come later too. Lots of people don't run them at all. Worry about flow, testing, making your water, rodi system, heaters and hardscape. The rest you have plenty of time to research and figure out.

That is a good point, I def don't want too much inside the tank taking up the display. I can always hold off on getting a skimmer for the short term, maybe I can get a cabinet placed skimmer.

Anything other than a HoB skimmer will require a sump. To do that you will need a HoB overflow and the pumps/plumbing required.

HoB skimmer isn't a bad thing. You barely see mine. Here are in tank and back side photos. Don't mind my cord mess
