Mind if I tag along and post my progression pics too? It'd be easier than having 2 purple monster progression threads haha.

Here's my frag. Just barely starting to encrust onto the rock and having pretty consistent polyp extension.

2/1/12 - Moved it up to higher light. It's really starting to encrust now to where I notice weekly growth!

I did move it. I actually moved the rock it was on higher up in the tank and had to change the frag's orientation. So you're looking at it head-on instead of from the side and its rotated 180degrees.

4/30/12 UPDATE

purple monster update still looks same as my last pic. Man it's no joke when everyone said it's a super slow grower.

Doesn't surprise me you christmas is 4x as big, it grows pretty well when it settles in and is happy. The PM truly can grow at a snails pace.

That 500 dolla efflo looks amazing, maybe the best color I've seen on one.

thanks man. coming from you that's definitely a compliment. hope they fill out pretty nicely. i recently sold all my stuff except 6 frags (I had a hard time keeping it to 6). after inventorying all my stuff i found out i had about 30 different types of SPS. Obsessed, i think i fit the bill. LOL. the weirdest one is my SSC tho. after i got rid of everything in the tank it turned blue. weird.

Here is a quick year and-a-half Purple Monster growth sequence. Lighting was Radium 250's until the end of September 2011, then LED's thereafter. It is truly a slow grower.

10-5-10
IMGP7492.jpg

1-31-11 coralite bumps maybe a bit bigger, a little more encrustment
IMG_0623.jpg

7-14-11 really really crowded, good thing the new tank was coming soon!

2-20-12 Had been under LED's for 4 months at this point.
