does a doctor's prescription work the same as a vet?
unfortunately im from malaysia .. tried all the big pharma and hospitals with doctor prescription. but all gave the same answer " no stock" . apparently theres a new drug for malaria so alot of companies discontinued CP pillsNot for Diamondback, but you can use it to get CP from a regular pharmacy like Walgreens. They may have to special order it thru a compounding pharmacy.
"Human" pharmacy chloroquine will be much more expensive. Maybe 15x to 20x. My first prescription from a "human" doctor cost about $20 for 7x 500mg pills or 2.1g of chloroquine. My prescription through Diamondback was about $45 for 75g.does a doctor's prescription work the same as a vet?
In most cases, 250 mg tablets have an equivalence of 150 mg chloroquine base, and 500 mg tablets have an equivalence of 300 mg chloroquine base. Although the purity mentioned above is generally accurate, it would be best to verify the chloroquine base contained in the tablets of your choice in order to be able to properly calculate the exact dosage. Keep in mind if you decide to use the tablets, there are some inactive ingredients, which you may have to deal with, e.g., Camauba Wax, Colloidal Silicon Dioxide, Dibasic Calcium Phosphate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Magnesium Stearate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Polyethylene Glycol, Polysorbate 80, Pregelatinized Starch, Sodium Starch Glycolate, Stearic Acid, and Titanium Dioxide. And as mentioned earlier in this chapter there are occasions where some medicines are not in their pure form (100% pure), i.e., mixed with a substance called a 'carrier,' which should be noted on its label. If so its potency is reduced, and if not sure about the exact amount of medication needed, suggest contacting a more experienced aquarist for the way to resolve this situation.
@darian It's usable, but see below:
Will it have any bad affect if I add Cp to it?
For the tablets, do I just crush it n mix with warm water before adding to the tank?
No; you can technically mix CP & copper.
You can or just put the tablets in your QT filter. They will slowly dissolve there.
thx for all the help
btw cp pills in malaysia are not that expensive. i bought it from a reputable hospital. 4 bucks usd for 40 (250gms) pills
Just remember 1-250mg tablet only yields 150mg worth of usable chloroquine. So, you will need to overdose to compensate for that.
It's not easy. I have a friend who has a friend that is a vet. Another friend found a couple large animal vets (horse, this IS Lexington! ) who would write a prescription. It took me 4 months to track a prescription down. Keep looking you'll find one sooner or later.Man! I have talked to about 15 different vets, including some aquatic specialist. None of which will fill this for me! Any ideas? I referenced the numerous articles and they did not help me.
You don't need an rx for that place. I wouldn't spend too much money on a site like that - you may get scammed. That said, since you aren't the one ingesting the medication, ..sorry fish... the risk is low.
$10USD/gm is extremely expensive(mine from Diamondback was approx. $0.06USD/gm with prescription). The biggest risk is probably the purity. What you receive may prove to be ineffective.
Nevermind, called them and the have pulled it and don't see that anymore.Has anyone ever purchase Chloroquine from here. http://www.fishmoxfishflex.com/inde...r-chloroquine-phosphate-fish-antibiotics.html
