These pictures are about a day apart. Thought he just got tore up a little as I noticed it yesterday but it's looking a lot worse now. Looking for any advice to help the little guy. Recent addition to my tank.

Please try to take photos with white light. The deep blue makes it impossible to diagnose.

Unfortunately this tail has been bitten off and is Not fin rot and may likely not grow back and result in loss. You have a culprit in the tank and one way to identify them is to set your cell phone on video mode for about 40 mins and drop a little food and walk away - YOU MUST walk away as they know youre there. Often the aggressor is a bully at feeding time.
Review the video and see who it may be

Any chance it might be a disease/bacterial/fungal or are you fairly sure it's from another inhabitant?

Ugh, this looks like tail damage (from a tankmate?) that has gotten infected. Once the bone is exposed, it is very difficult to treat. You would need to move the fish to a treatment tank and dose with a broad spectrum gram negative antibiotic like Neoplex.

Is it worth separating/treating him or is this most likely past treatment point?

IMO, this isn’t treatable, the exposed bone would just get reinfected - sorry.

As mentioned, likely not to grow back and will affect the fish's ability to survive
