Correct, the leds are mounted to an aluminum plate which has contact with the heat sink. No thermal compunds
what is the acceptable average temperature ?
40c⁰ ?

Doesn't seem crazy to me depending on the percentage. What percentage are you running at?...
The light is inside a canopy with a hole for the fan.
white, red, green 10% and blue etc. 60%. It climbs to around 38-40c⁰.
My problem is that I have t5s too... I tried it once... I stopped at 48c⁰... I'm going to put a fan....

But I would like to know the "safe" temperature that the lamp can reach.

Well there is no way to give you that answer..
Actually depends on the heat AT the diode. A place that is not easy to measure.
T(j) around <60C
After that its the efficiency of multiple heat transfer interfaces.

Conclusion

The heat dissipation performance of LED fixtures depends on a number of factors, materials, interfaces, geometries, and environmental conditions.
If you want a rule of thumb w/ no guarantees.. keep the heat sink under 48.9C
Definitely won't hurt to add some thermal compound.

Also best to have a decent thermal gradient.
Like inside the "box" temp isn't 45C.
Cooler the better.

I can also confirm that 3d printed diffusers/shades fit. I printed one and only had to make a slight modification as the power input is on the back side of the light instead of the side like the XR30s have

I purchased the X30 blue but it won't fit in the Aquaticlife t5 hybrid fixture. I need to
Rearrange the plug to the side of the fixture. Does anyone know where I can buy this power adapter? Looks like a 2 pin pcb to male jack?

Why not extend the wire and drill a hole on the side

Anyone have any experience with this light? Just found it browsing AliExpress and thought it looked to be a pretty good knock off of the XR30

AliExpress A8SE

I tried searching but nothing came up unless I was searching wrong
There is a r2r thread about these.

@aj1980 This is what I did. You still have a disconnect before the power supply. I also added hot glue to the cord on the inside so it wouldn’t slip out the grommet if pulled. I drilled the hole on the other light on the opposite side so they are facing the tracks for cable management.

Having troubles syncing to local time, tried in both english and chinese version. When it prompts to auto adjust the time to current time, I click ok and then it starts to synchronize and then it just gets stuck, with the wheel just continuing to spin. Any ideas?

Yea there’s a bug in the update pack. Remove the app and reinstall. When it prompts you to do the update pack decline it.

Got it working with the non updated app. Now the issue is when I try and save to my current time, it says it saves but it defaults back to chinese time?

Also is there anyway I can ramp up the lights? So far I've set the lights 20% white, 100% blues, 100% purple, 20% red and green but thats throughout the whole photo period.

In general, there is a little experience using the "Chinese Radion" AIPAI 8se, switched from Maxspect Led Ethereal E5-130w.

The reason for the transition was a sad story :

I froze the aquarium in the truest sense of the word on New Year's holidays in 2024, left for a week and left the window for ventilation, and outside the window it was pressing at minus 30. Upon arrival, the aquarium was +14.6

It was with Maxspect Led Ethereal E5-130w like this

Upon returning after 8 days, it became (almost all Euphyllia, simple sps ones have gone down in history):

I decided to buy a new light under this "noise", and then one friend recommended it, since (according to him) he performed a comparison with the G5, in PAR almost 1 in 1.

I can note the advantages for myself (at the moment, the new world has been in use for a little over 3 months):
1) Those corals that survived the "ice age" began to feel better: as if they had blossomed, become brighter, and started to grow;
2) I liked the native bracket: the height adjustment range is impressive (compared to my previous Maxspect E5);
3) The power cable goes neatly inside the "leg" and neatly enters the lamp itself.
4) There are presets, but I didn't like them or I didn't try them (((. Also, when I bought it, I had the opportunity to download user presets through the application and see what a particular preset looks like (both the graph itself and the jar itself). However, none of them have been downloaded from me)))

General view, as soon as the light was installed (the cable has not yet been inserted into the foot mounting tube)

2024-02-05 22-36-56.JPG

Consumes almost the declared values to the fullest extent (turned on for a few minutes, I don't know how it will "keep")

Cons or features:
1) Connecting to a phone / WiFi point - well, you need patience for the first time. The first connection was problematic, I suffered for half an hour or an hour, probably. Although after that I already changed the Wi-Fi router and after that I didn't have much problems to switch the lamp to a new Wi-Fi network;
2) There is an update for the lamp, but when you try to update, it issues an ALERT and that's it. I don't know if the update is useful or not, but still;
3) Feature usage according to Chinese Time Zone. That is, it is configured not according to My Local Time, but according to UTC+8;
4) Once there was a power failure of the whole house. The light schedule got lost, but I don't remember exactly its power anymore. I had to "move" the schedule to suit my wishes. But if you take the power out of the lamp with your hands and plug it in again, then all the settings remain;

5) The app is in Chinese and English-Chinese

6) The aquarium glasses began to grow heavily ((( Every 3-4 days you need to clean, previously cleaned once a week, or even more.

I am satisfied at the moment. Aqua is still in this condition:

Oh, yes, the display is 88 liters. I also launched a Balling system with a new lamp.

I hope it helped someone.

I'm sorry, English is not my native language. 2024-01-11 21-08-41_1705016282.JPG
