I'm new to the hobby. I have these original hydra non hd first gen lights I got from a friend with no director. So my question is can I set new timers for what's best for my tank. Im using the previous owners lighting scedual. Everything looks ok but the lights seem to get really bright around 5pm to around 7 pm. Should I adjust that particular timer or should I create a completely different schedule. And how?

Your best bet would buy a director for them, or the controller. I believe that is the only way to get to control the exact amount output for each led.

I have the controller actually I have two of them, but I don't have a director. I don't know if that makes a difference. I don't know what the director does exactly.
